Diversity in the Coaching Space
Developing the unique attributes and valued added that diversity brings to leadership is a challenge that many organisations and individual coaches face. Quite often, this challenge is overlooked and a generic coaching solution is provided to enhance the leadership performance of different individuals.
However, there is a growing recognition that the particular needs, challenges, opportunities and threats that leaders across the diversity spectrum experience, requires a more focused and tailored solution, one that takes account of and builds upon that diversity.
How we can support you
Diversity Performance Coaching Training – Individuals from minority backgrounds often do not receive clear, constructive feedback on their performance and potential. Yet their managers talk about their concerns to not cause offence, or say the wrong thing. This workshop provides managers with the practical coaching skills to get the best performance out of all their staff regardless of background. It develops participants’ awareness and skills to work across difference, particularly in providing constructive, supportive feedback on performance and provides a solutions-focused framework, skills and strategies for engaging in courageous and challenging conversations.
Diversity in the Coaching Space (DCS) – is a workshop aimed at individuals wishing to develop their coaching competence to work positively and productively with difference, leveraging diversity in themselves or in those they lead. The objective is to develop the knowledge and skill set required to specifically coach individuals from diverse backgrounds and/or to coach around diversity and inclusion related issues. On successful completion of the DCS course, participants will gain a certificate from the Institute of Leadership & Management in recognition of their development as a Diversity Coach.
Introduction to Coaching Fundamentals – is a one day workshop aimed at experienced managers who do not have any formal coaching training. Coaching knowledge is an essential foundation of the DCS course and it is a requirement that participants have formalised their coaching skills through attending either the Diversity Practice Introduction to Coaching Fundamentals or a similar introductory coach training programme.
